7 posters on Smith & Nephew NPWT to be presented at the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society’s Annual Conference St. Petersburg FL- June 8, 2009 – Smith & Nephew Inc.’s (LSE: SN; NYSE: SNN) Advanced Wound Management division announced today that seven clinical posters featuring its Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) products will be presented at the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses (WOCN) Society’s 41st Conference, which will be held June 6-10 in St. Louis. Smith & Nephew will also present a scientific review of clinical evidence around the use of Cadexomer Iodine as a topical antimicrobial agent. Advanced Wound Management achieves underlying revenues growth of 4% in Q2 St. Petersburg, FL – July 30, 2009 – Smith & Nephew (LSE: SN; NYSE: SNN) highlights the progress achieved in 2009 by its Advanced Wound Management division. As reported earlier today, Advanced Wound Management’s global revenue grew to $208m in the second quarter and $386m for the first half of 2009, increasing by 4% and 6% over the comparable periods of 2008. This growth was driven by gains across its portfolio of strategic brands, RENASYS◊ negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) products, the VERSAJET◊ hydrosurgery tool, and ACTICOAT◊ and ALLEVYN◊ advanced dressings. St. Petersburg, FL – July 24, 2009 – Smith & Nephew Inc’s Advanced Wound Management division (LSE: SN; NYSE: SNN) announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Patent Office) has issued actions in re-examination proceedings involving three of the negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) patents licensed to Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (NYSE: KCI), confirming the patentability of the re-examined claims. The re-examination proceedings are still pending, and Smith & Nephew intends to pursue its appeal rights.
